CWJC & CMJC of Rankin County keeps an updated resource list to help each participant, men and women. We see each individual with strengths and resources that God can multiply and use to meet needs. When participants receive support, they are more likely to act on their strengths. We believe in each person's capacity for change and growth.
Strength-Based Program:
CWJC & CMJC is based on a strength-based foundation. We try to recognize that every person and every environment has strenghths. By focusing on those strengths and the ways in which a person has coped with his or her circumstances, we can better equip that person to deal with the challenges that remain. Being strength-based also means we work with a person to create independence, not dependence on us.
Models: There are two basic models for CWJC/CMJC. Those are One-on-one and the Classroom model. One-on-one - A mentor meets regularly with the participant for fellowship and Bible Study. The participant and mentor then network in the community to achieve the goals of the participate, such as continuing education, child-care resources, job opportunities, counseling, etc.
Prison and Detention Center Classes - CWJC is currently holding classes in local prison and one-on-one classes in our local Detention Center.
Celebrate Recovery Classes - 12 step programs are taught for those with the need.
CWJC & CMJC Site Coordinator - The site coordinator is the person who has direct contact with participants, instructors, mentors, volunteers, donors, and advisory council members. She/he facilities the ministry, serving as the coordinator of a CWJC/CMJC ministry should be a calling.
National Certification Training - life experiences, education, training opportunities, personal interests, and spiritual gifts combine to prepare the person for this role. The training complements these things by equipping the person with the infomation necessary to turn the vision for a ministry to women/men in need into a healthy CWJC/CMJC site.
